SYNOPSIS:

An up-and-coming attorney takes on a case to sue the Catholic Church for discrimination against a young woman who desperately wants to become a priest. In a world where gender equality is a critical issue, the Church remains steeped in tradition. As the trial unfolds and divine authority is challenged, their lives become in danger as extremists plot to stop the heresy at any cost.

Long Synopsis

Tommy Reilly (Aaron Tveit, Les Miserables) an up-and-coming attorney takes on a case for Alejandra Batista (Edy Ganem, Devious Maids), a devoted Catholic woman with a calling to become a priest. When she is rejected by the Church, Tommy and Alejandra decide to sue the Archdiocese of New Orleans for sexual discrimination. Church representative Monsigr Renzulli (Lou Diamond Phillips, The 33) files a motion to dismiss the case. As the case starts to make press headlines, both Tommy and Alejandra’s lives are in danger.
