Amish kids immersed in sex, drugs, and rock and roll rule the day during “Rumspringa,” the ritualistic period in which Amish teens are “released” into the outside world, to live as ordinary Americans. The logic being that until one has been tempted and lived without God’s Law, one cannot choose to consciously be a part of it or the Church. At the end of the Rumspringa, one must make a choice to commit to the rite, or be extricated forever.
